Gifts for Mom
Creative and thoughtful gift ideas that she will absolutely love.
Gifts for mom that she will love…
- A beautiful Journal. If she is the creative type, maybe markers, inks, and a creative art journaling book to go with it. It could also be a journal for you to write in for her on special occasions or even just because. Love this idea: Journal Mother’s Day Gift Idea. - Time. While this is not out of the ordinary, do not underestimate the value of spending time with her and cherishing her. It will melt her heart.
- A weekend getaway. Take her away for a weekend getaway of making memories. She will never forget this.
- Send her flowers. This always makes a girl feel special. This is one of the things my sons did for me on my 50th. I never knew I could be so happy on a birthday where I turned 50.
- Inspirational jewelry like these inspirational bracelets. That with which we surround ourselves has a profound effect on the life we create. Even the jewelry we wear can inspire us, make us feel braver, stronger. We have this one, amazing life to make beautiful. Take every opportunity to add to that beauty and to be inspired. It could be an inspiring quote, something special that you share…a phrase, words, etc., a Bible verse, etc.
- A hardbound book of your favorite, family photos. She will LOVE this. Make it extra special by adding appropriate and inspiring quotes. I repeat. She will LOVE this. This is a creative alternative to a photo in a frame.
- A spa day.
- Shop locally for unique, hard to find items. Find the unique shops in your area that have those wonderful, hard to find items that she will love. The selection is usually amazing in these stores. We two here locally that I could spend all day in and never be bored. They have everything from beautiful, vintage decor, prints, albums, jewelry, throws, inspirational items, and so much more.
- Take her out for dinner.
- A book or two that she will love. Or if she doesn’t have an e-reader yet, that would also be a wonderful idea, especially with a beautiful case.
- Relive some of her favorite childhood memories with you. Did she love cuddling in bed, eating and watching movies with you? Or was there a favorite local place she liked to go with you? Was it creating something with you? What does she miss the most? Do that with her.

What would you add to our “Gifts for Mom” list?
May totally snuck up on me! My mom’s birthday is also in May, so I struggle to do the birthday thing and the Mother’s thing….but secretly it makes me happy to have them together. Great list – I think the thing Moms want most is to be loved and remember….so be sure to CALL!!
♥ Jill
Hi Jill! Definitely. Calling is a great idea if you do not live close enough for a visit. My sons know that there is nothing in the world that I love more than spending time with them. There are just always those occasions where we need to buy a mom a gift, and it can get hard, especially the older they get. We seem to have it all already. Hoping this list makes it easier for some this year.
I am with you, Jill. I think that would be nice having both Mother’s Day and her birthday close together. You’re kind of already in the idea mood. I have a friend whose 50th birthday falls on Mother’s Day this year. Hmmm…I am not sure how I would feel about that one. lol
I can’t believe Mother’s day is almost here. I bought my mom some special hand creams a while back. I’m trying to think of a creative card idea. I love your suggestions… maybe I should forward this to my husband so he and the girls can surprise me on Mother’s Day *wink*.
I’m pinning this for future reference. I might have to do the pictures/quotes idea… maybe for her birthday (which is in July).
It’s a pleasure meeting you. Your site is lovely.
xoxo
Hi Jennifer! Oh, I know. It is funny how with the amount of advertising is done on television how these things sneak up on us. I always tell myself that I will be better prepared for Thanksgiving and Christmas every year. I really feel this year is going to be the year. lol
The journal instead of the Mother’s Day card was a beautiful idea. I wish I would have done that years ago. We have access to so many more ideas than we ever did when mine were young, or when I was young. The picture with a quote would be a wonderful gift idea for your mom. I have a print from a picture my grown son took over my fireplace. There is just something about a picture your child takes (no matter their age) that is just as special as their art work when they were little.
It is so wonderful to meet you! Thank you so much for visiting and chatting. I just checked out your blog, and it is beautiful. I am on my way back to finish a couple of articles.
