The “Every Day Is a Special Occasion” Party Punch Drink Recipe

Because every day is a special occasion. And what says special occasion better than a yummy and easy special occasion party punch. You can make it alcoholic or non-alcoholic.

I love punch. But I can honestly say the first couple of times I tried to make it many years ago, it was pretty awful. I mean, how do you even mess up punch, right?  I followed someone’s recipe, so I am not going to take full credit for that. I think it had orange juice in it or something. I love orange juice, but I am not of fan of using it for cooking or mixed drinks like punch, because it tends to dominate it. I like my orange juice straight. Unless I add champagne, because that is okay. Don’t ask me why. It just is.

A couple of years ago, I decided to finally try it again. That must have been some really bad punch I made years ago to scare me off for so long. It was a recipe based off one I saw on Pinterest, but I cannot remember the amounts of anything and have long lost the recipe.

So I made my version of it using amounts to have just enough for a few days for myself, for no special reason, because it’s that good. That you just want to drink it all the time. For no special reason at all. And isn’t that what life should be about? Not waiting for special occasions, but making this day a special occasion?

I love this punch and have tried a couple of variations, and it is pretty variation friendly. I have a few more juices in my online shopping cart to try some other variations. I may have gotten a little carried away, but I love cool, new drinks.

Every Day Is a Special Occasion Party Punch Drink Recipe Alcoholic and Non-alcoholic DrinkThe “Every Day Is a Special Occasion” Party Punch

Punch is best fresh, especially when using pineapple juice or sodas that can go flat. So I like to make just enough to last for a few days. I buy all individual servings to make it easy to have it on hand to mix up fresh.  It really is as simple as opening one bottle and popping three cans. It makes four 8 oz servings.

  • Cranapple Juice 10 oz bottle
  • Pineapple juice 12 oz (2  6 oz cans)
  • Ginger ale 7.5 oz can
  • Water 2 oz (basically just top it off)

I use an old 32 oz pomegranate juice glass jar and a funnel and add it all in together. It is so easy. This is the perfect size jar for this amount. If there is any extra room, I add a little water.

Variations:

  • I have substituted the Cranapple juice with Cranpeach. I’ve also substituted water for the ginger ale when I get on no soda kicks. But this really is only one mini-can mixed up to make four servings, so it’s not like having a whole 12 oz can. It is less than 2 oz in each serving.
  • I have also mixed it with champagne. So. Good. Mix up your Cranapple and pineapple in the jar and pour it 1/2 and half in a glass with champagne when you are ready to drink it.
  • It is really hard to mess this up. You can pretty much do anything you want with it.

This is a simple thing to  do to make the day a little extra special and even better to share it with a friend.
