You Are My People

You are my people…

You Are My People | Read more at... artofabeautifullife.comTribes are a beautiful thing. These are our people, the people to whom we belong and who belong to us. While we can have many friends, our tribe is special. It is those to whom we are truly connected in a very deep and real way. They are never farther away than a phone call. They know our stories. They have our back. They celebrate with us…the little moments and the big moments. They pour into us. They help us pluck up courage and chutzpah when we need it. They make us feel brave. And our tribe is our safe place. This is our tribe. These are our people. Our tribe can be members of our family, cousins, siblings, or special friends. Your people are who you choose, and the people who choose you. Choose wisely. Celebrate your tribe. Your tribe makes you stronger, bolder, braver, and more you than any other place, because everyone with a tribe is a little more confident…because they belong. They have people. We all need people.

Or the family that no matter what happens, they are always there for each other, like the three musketeers, all for one and one for all. These are tribes, beautiful tribes. Life is richer, sweeter, and more beautiful because of our tribes. Celebrate your tribe, your people. They make life beautiful. They make our lives beautiful.

  1. Ah… yes! I have several different tribes that fill me, nourish me and encourage me. Aren’t I lucky? Various groups of women with all walks of life…

It’s a beautiful thing. It’s a needed thing. To belong. To have a place where we can be ourselves and bask in friendship that is never-ending and always supportive of our own journey through life.

I thank God for each and every group of people that cling to each other and lift each other up through each new situation that arises and circumstance that we endure. Both through joy and pain- through suffering and celebration- they ARE our people!

We weren’t created to be alone and isolated. I always pray for those who don’t have this blessing in their lives. Everyone deserves this kind of love.

    • Oh, how wonderful, Chris! You are so blessed to have many tribes! And so blessed are the others to have you. I can only imagine what an amazing person you would be to have in a tribe! Keep shining, my beautiful friend. Keep shining. xo

  2. Tribes are a wonderful thing aren’t they? And a very important part of our lives because without having people we can turn to when we need we would be very lonely. A wise man once said: No man is an island” and I like to keep that in mind in my everyday life!

    • Yes, they are, Ana Lynn. I love how we even have online tribes. It’s just not good for us to go through life alone. We need each other.

  3. Amen, Topaz. Tribes are monumentally important to our quality of life. The right tribe empowers us to be our authentic selves.

I will return to the loving embrace of my blogging tribe, next month. I took a break to focus on the myriad personal and professional challenges that life put on my plate.

I am blessed to have the support of my tribe, as I grow through these challenges.

Because of the liberating comfort of my tribe, I will be back with a joyful vengeance.

    • “The right tribe empowers us to be our authentic selves.” This is such a profound statement, Lee. Two very powerful truths in that.

I have missed you. Life has a way of getting in the way of the things we want to do. Glad you will be coming back soon. You are always such a bright light, you and your beautiful, crazy, fun words. I just ADORE that about you. Yes, our beautiful, blogging tribe. Are bloggers just not some of the most beautiful people? I feel so blessed to be part of such a beautiful community. xo

  4. Beautiful. Yes, I have a few tribes. Church, friends, and family. Then I have my online tribe (in which I would definitely include you).

It’s a world full of all sorts of challenges and obstacles… we’re not meant to do it alone. We need a tribe… like you said.

Thanks for sharing. Wishing you a blessed day.
    xoxo

    • So true, Jennifer. And, yes…definitely would include you in my online tribe! I am loving the amazing bloggers, like yourself, that I am meeting online. We may be far apart in miles, but we are close in spirit. xo

  5. Hi Topaz! How funny! I just wrote a post about Family Stories, and how they connect us with our family tribes. I completely agree that we are here on this earth to create connections to our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are all connected!

The Lord knows that I need support and encouragement, so he gives me my family, friends, blog-friends and church buddies. They all help me to become who I am meant to be!
So nice to meet you today 🙂
    Ceil

    • Hi Ceil! It’s wonderful to meet you! Isn’t that a wonderful feeling when we find someone and connect over what God is putting in our hearts? I love love that you wrote about this. Off to check out your blog!

  6. This is beautiful! One of the reasons I started blogging is because I was looking for a new tribe – and I have definitely found it through my online friends!

    • Oh, I love that, Lana. I love that you went out and found your tribe. I am enjoying getting to know the other bloggers. It’s kind of like finding people that get you, really get you. Bloggers and writers…we tend to be observers, thinkers and writers. It’s wonderful when we read each other’s blogs and realize we found someone like ourselves. Sometimes it can be hard to find those connections in real life. And those are powerful connections. I look forward to connecting more with other bloggers and really growing those friendships like you have done.

  7. Topaz, this is beautiful! Yes, we all need tribes and like many of your readers, I am so thankful to have a few. Being the 7th of seven children, I was in a tribe upon birth! LOL
